The album begins with our into “theme song to ‘Lavender Blues LIVE” a dedicated class that I film for YouTube viewers. It explains how starting your life with Lavender Blues helps you strut into pre-K which simply means that Lavender Blues prepares littles for traditional education that starts at 3 in NYC. After being a part of the Lavender Blues community Bunnies are set up to confidently move on to their next age appropriate venture. It also introduces Lady B and tells us that we can be ourselves at Lavender Blues

It moves on to ‘Whats the Feeling” this song is always sung after we say hello. It gives the children an oppoutunity to show Lady B where they are at emotionally. They can show me if they are happy, ready, excited, rambunctious. That there are many emotions and we are allowed to feel what ever we feel. It also gets our Bunnies moving their bodies

“Arriba Means Up’ is a favorite in our classroom. Borrowed from Dan Zanes. He taught it to me in 2014 when we met doing Dan Zanes House arty at different venues in BK .. this led me to adapting it to my own Lavender Blues classes and adding it to Lavender Blues TV and Lavender Blues LIVE. I of course asked him if I could REMIX it for the album and he was happy to, He even jumps on the track. His vocals make the song come full circle for me.

ABCs with Lady B is how we learn the alphabet at Lavender Blues… as a Nanny I always taught my littles to read by teaching them the sounds before the letter names. It’s proven to assist in the efficiency of learning to read. I turned it into a song long ago and am excited that I had a Bunny able to join me on this track proving to the grown ups that its not that tricky.. a 3 year old can do it! Turning it into a remix was a challenge but with the help of my producer Trevor we managed to cage the cadence of the original ABC song.

Almond Milk & Cake Pops is my spin on the classic “Rain Drops” I changed the original words to make it more Brooklyn and started singing it in class 2 years ago. For the past year or so it has been my absolute most favorite song to sing in class with a group of singers!! I had to make it a remix for the album for the sheer fun of it.

Bunnies on a rug, Not only is this tune a total bop, but it tackles racism too. "Bunnies on a Rug" is my version of "5 LITTLE MONKEYS” First I changed the word "Monkeys” to “Bunnies" to fit my own branding (and to fight racism) Then I changed “bed” to rug, because I don’t want our Bunnies, jumping on beds (DANGER!) Then I changed the tune cuz racism… the original tune is racist.

The Kreyòl Song .. I added a song with a kompa beat to honor my ancestors. Get up, Sing and Dance repeats over and over in the language of my father. (Haitian Creole)

Affirmations Interlude
I started making affirmations a daily ritual July 5, 2021 and believe it has changed my life. I wanted to give my audience a taste of the power of positivity in self affirming affirmations. Short and sweet… something my Bunnies can repeat. Over and over and over again.

Positivity Flow.. a new version of “Peace & Positivity.” Sung a cappella on the first album, this time I added back up singers as well as a beat to go underneath. When this sung is sung in class it has the power to transform the energy of a room. I want to bring that same feeling of going from grrrr to ahhhh to folks beyond the classroom.
